Very good news. Any idea when the next session will happen and how long the Gov has to sign so it becomes law?

It has to be placed on the agenda for final reading this session or the bill will have to start anew next legislative session, which is next year.

During the final reading stage a bill is not subject to debate or amendment, so if it gets placed on the agenda and hits the floor it is pretty much a done deal.

"The bill would forbid people from carrying a concealed gun into a number of places, including bars, churches, schools, government buildings, banks and sporting events."

That's a big list of off limit places. I guess now thoughe everything is off limits.

Any chance it could get tabled or held aside "for futher review"? Also, if the Gov does not sign does it automatically become law?

I really do hope you guys and those in Kansas get CCW. Everytime another state passes CCW or eases the resistrictions for CCW it makes the anti-CCW people in WI look that much more foolish for opposing it. And it is another blow to the influence of Brady/MMM/VPC/AGS/etc.

The only thing they can do is motion for it to be sent back to select file for amendment. Someone will make the motion, but it won't fly. I don't know what happens if the Governor doesn't sign. He has already said he will, and it's an election year so he doesn't want to piss off all the gun owners here.

One of the major reasons for CCW is because people who take large cash deposits to the bank want to be able to protect themselves ... pretty stupid that you can't CCW to the one place you need to the most

Oh well ... get the law passed and then you can make changes to it later (especially when that Ernie character is gone).
