11-27-22 Dodge County, NE . Four hunters got 12 roosters / four limits in about 6 hours afield. Private ground and hatched in the wild birds. Nothing pen raised. Two of us are 65 now and have been hunting together for over 50 years. The other two young'ns are in their early 40's. We hunted mostly tall, grassy waterways and tangled thickets. 7.5 miles were walked. We had 2 experienced Munsterlander and one Vizsla pup. We missed very few birds and lost none that were known to be hit. I'm the one holding two of mine with the old 870 Express. God is very good.

Excellent! I hunted Chase county in Southwestern NE and didn’t put up a single bird in 2 days.

I've heard similar reports from other areas in southwest NE, south central NE where I'm at now and points in southeast NE where I was born, raised, resided and hunted for 30 years. The other 65 year old guy in our party hunted around Oxford on opening day with a group with good dogs and saw very few birds. We had as good a pheasant hunting in southern NE in the 70's, 80's and most of the 90's as anywhere in the Dakotas, Iowa or Kansas. We had hunters from all over the US. Today, pheasants are pretty scarce where I'm at . Dodge county is in the NE part of the state.

Congrats!! (I’m in Lancaster county but do most hunting around Furnas county so Oxford is stomping grounds) I’ve seen so few birds the last while I’ve hunted them very little. But I’ve seen a lot deer hunting… might need to dust off the ol Benelli…

Thanks. Ironically, the guy with the 3 birds hunted the Oxford area opening day for pheasants with a group with good dogs. They saw very few. He did get one. The younger guy above by the end gate did shoot a couple shells but got none. Another buddy of his didn't fire a round.
