Looking over sights for my 9.3x62 build on that 09 argentine mauser I've got, I'm pretty positive I'd go with there masterpiece banded front sight. Not 100% on the rear, the rear masterpiece sight I think will match how I want the gun to look better then the flip up express rear sight. Probably get the adjustable masterpiece, wish necg had some better pictures I can't see how the sight is adjustable. I like the normal rear, you can see how that one clamps down and I like that. Both should be easy to adjust in the field with there needed tools.

Not sure if I should get the normal rear base that I think has one screw to hold it to the barrel to be soldered on or there screw on base.anyone with these sights post some pictures and if possible one of the sight picture looking down them.

Is this the sights you are asking about ? These are on my 404 Jeffery , the gunsmith talked me out of the multi leaf rear and ivory bead I thought I wanted , and I think I am happy he did. These are a lot better for shooting with I think . Especially as my eyes have gotten older . 20240103_095132.jpg 20240103_094948.jpg 20240103_095013.jpg 20240103_095100.jpg 20240103_094738.jpg 20240103_094743.jpg 20240103_095417.jpg

Ya that's them how does the Screw adjust the windage underneath is there a tab on the sight insert the adjustment screws push on. Any idea how your sights are attached, I know the front is setup like a press fit and guys epoxy or loctite them on. Nice rifle btw, maybe some day I'll do a 404.

I think the rear is silver soldered on . The screw on top in front locks the sight in place and the screw on the side is windage . The one screw goes either direction . And the screw in the middle of the blade is elevation , with 2 screws on the blades to lock that in . 20240103_102307.jpg 20240103_102323.jpg 20240103_103016.jpg

Without pulling it apart , it looks like both screws are threaded thru , and there are locking screws for each.

Humm so looks like you need to use there specific 16mm dovetail sight insert to clear the adjustment Screw. Thanks for the pictures

I am sure you would have to , The bottom of the sight blade base has a rounded notch where the screw goes thru it . I suppose you could make a dovetail blank to put in the base and then fit a different sight into that , but I don't think that would save you anything unless you have a milling machine and wanted something radically different . Even then you would be lucky to save ten bucks .

Guess you could always takeout the adjustment screws to use the normal 16mm inserts, I'd just like it to be more versatile if needed and only the insert that comes with the adjustable base has that bottom cut. All other inserts look to work with the classic base.

I bet that would work if you took out the adjustment screw and put a couple of set screws in the insert from the top down for tension , at least if you were going to put it on a hard kicking rifle . And you could still use the adjustable one when or if you wanted to .
