I have just started shooting 158gr SWC Missouri bullets 18 hardness.

I am looking for a midrange load that is for pin shooting, I have 2400, unique or win 231 powder. I have tried the unique at 5.5grains and was a little underwhelmed. I am shooting a S&W 5" 627 I am about out of 2400 but if there is a real accurate load I would buy some more.

I really like 13.5 gr of 2400 with 158gr swc. Last trip to the range i just kinda popping off rounds with my 357 mag and was hitting a coke can at 75 feet every time with them. I worked up from 12gr and would recommend the same. Also 12 gr of aa#9 with the same bullet worked well for me. This is just me others might like something else.

Bump it up another grain and you won't be.
6.5 is 0.3 under max according to older Alliant data, so it should whelm you a little more.

It's going to take a pretty good whack to bump up your hard bullets.

Should have went with softer alloy for mid-range loads.

+1 for the 12-13.5 gr 2400, Raw magnum speed WW296/H-110

Bhn 18 is a tuff boolit & will withstand as much pressure as the 357 can muster !!

The Boolit MUST FIT though !!

I like 8.0 grains of Herco with hard cast 158's.

AA#7 is a good powder too; my best load was somewhere around 10 or 11 grains but I don't remember the details.

Lately I've been shooting a lot of .357 Magnum 148 grain DEWC's with 4.5 grains of Promo (bulk Red Dot.) Accurate and very cheap to shoot. I need to load a couple of hundred today...

All 3 powder you have will produce accurate ammo for the .357 Magnum. I have also loaded very accurate 158gr LSWC .357 Magnum ammo using HS-6.
