Need a fixer-upper T/C barrel

Does anyone know where to find a Thompson Contender barrel for a really good price? I am going to use it in gunsmithing school as a project. Ideally I am looking for a barrel that is rusted or has minor damage on the outside, even on the crown. I was looking for a barrel blank but I haven't been able to find any available. Any resources would be much appreciated.

What exactly are you going to do with it? I have a 454 barrel that was cut off to 10", I think, but the guy in our machine shop was unable to crown it because the lathe was too big.

I got a good source of .22lr barrel blanks. 10 inches, unchambered, .40 OD. The guy sells them as "barrel liners" you're supposed to put them inside a big bore barrel, like on a Contender, and switch them out.

Not TC, but my local gunsmith has a TON of take-out Mauser barrels in various conditions, in 7MM X5 7 and 8MM X 57 and other take-out barrels... they aren't that hard to find...

I'm betting there aren't alotta Contender or Encore barrels in bad shape out there... the people who buy expensive single shot handguns are more likely to take care of them, is my bet...
