Need a lil or a lot of Bullet casting advise.

Have been reloading for about two years and love doing it. And started thinking about casting went to our local tire shop scrounging for lead as it happens here in Ca, no longer can you use lead wheel weights they asked if i have a truck and as it happens i do 50 20lb boxes of new wheel weights.
First off the melting, casting, quenching I'm good with its the sizing, lubing,
and installing gas checks, and on a rifle bullet with a gas gheck how fast can you go fps. and will a heaver bullet hold up better would like to run cast in semi auto rifle and pistol I got alot lead.

You need to become a member at castboolits.com, there are people there with a lot more experience than me. I don't gc yet, but guys talk about 2600+ fps in certain rifles.
