Just bought a pile of 112gr Berry's for 7.62x39 on a special. The only load I could find used 16 to 16.5gr of 2400. They fire just fine but will not cycle in my Mini 30, making it into basically a bolt action....tried 16gr and worked up to 16.5gr...no cycle? Any suggestions other than shooting them with a sling shot?

I was not aware Berry made 112 grain 7.62x39 bullets.

I see 110 RN and 125 Spitzer on the website.

2400 is too fast burning to operate a gas-operated rifle.

Anyway, for load data I would look at Lyman #49 lead bullet data.
20.0 grains IMR-4198 will give you around 1,900 FPS and 25,000 PSI and might be enough to make it cycle.

I believe the Berry rifle bullets has thicker plating and will take any velocity a cast bullet would.

If all else fails, email [email protected] for suggested loads.

Thanks...they're listed in the "specials" on the Berry's site. Also wondered if they would work in a .30 carbine. Diameter is same as Sierra 110gr .308 round nose....shape is different?

O'K' I can see clearly now!!

The .30 carbine bullets are .308 dia.
They say
When loading these plated rifle bullets do not exceed a max velocity of 1950 fps.

Yours says they are .311" dia, and also say:
They are thick plated so you can shoot them to 2000fps.

Try the powder & load I suggested above.

I wish Berrys would make a heavier 7.62x39 say 140-155gr. If their plated rifle bullets can't be pushed over 1800-2000 fps that would be fine for a 150 grainish bullet
