I bought this 30-06 rem725 primarily to be a backup hunting rifle as well as a precision iron sighted group shootin range toy. Thus far the rifle shows great promise but for one issue. I can't see the front sight on this dude! I have no problem with my AR but the gold blade on this rifle just disappears into the target, Ive tried a little recontouring with a file and removing the hood but to no avail.

The sight riser will have to be replaced as this one has the blade pinned into place (no 3/8" dovetail) but what I really want suggestions on is options for a front bead that's precise yet readily visible.

How precise can a 1/16" fiber optic bead be

should I just invest in a small globe

any other recommendations

If you can fabricate a fiber optic solution, that would do it. I usually put a dot of fluorescent red or orange paint on the bead.
