Need a shooting box

Hi everybody,

I just bought a Stainless Old Army Ruger. I should receive her in a few weeks.

I am looking for a shooting box to keep all my stuff in; Gatofeo has quite a list of different stuff...

Was wondering if anybody had any recommendations.

I bought a wood tool box from Lowes for my Ruger Old Army. I don't know if there are Lowes in Canada, but it looks like you can order one online. There is a top tray. I put mt OA in a zippered pistol case, the can of black powder, the box of round balls in the bottom and the rest in the top tray.

MTM makes the same thing but in plastic.

I went to Big Lots and bought a Prosource tool bag. Its dark green, About 2ft long and 16" tall with pouches inside and out. I have a Old army in the holster and two TC Patriots in cases in it with all that feeds them. It was less than 20.00. Steve

I just bought a five dollar "tool box" at Walmart. I ain't a rich man and didn't see where I should buy some special built box sold at Dixie or something for $30 when it wouldn't work any better. Heck, it's more organized than it was in the cardboard box I had it in in the closet.

We got "Big Lots" here in Texas, too.

I like a fishing box. I bought a mid-sized Plano, with three folding drawers inside and a large space under the drawers.
It may be more than what you need but when you get a cap and ball revolver, it always seems you're constantly adding doo-dads.
I like the drawers because so many items are small and easily lost in an open-top tool bag.
Smaller parts include cleaning jags, cleaning brushes, Q-tips and so on.
I went with a larger box because I shoot two calibers, .36 and .44, and need projectiles and wads of both sizes.
Incidentally, an Altoids Sour Candy tin makes a wonderful container for greased felt wads. It's airtight and easily opened with greasy fingers (just push down on the depression on the side of the lid and it pops open handily).
Whatever you buy, get a box larger than you think you'll need. Sure enough, you'll be adding different projectiles, caps and so on to it. It's nice to have the extra room for expansion.
