I'm looking for informaiton on having an older Weaver scope rebuilt. Seems I've seen a reference to someone who does this sort of work reasonably, but I can't locate it on my search. I'm thinking it was a man with a hispanic surname who used to work for the old Weaver Company in El Paso.
Anyway, I just traded for a rifle with an old steel tube Weaver 1.5 to 4.5 X variable. It is a really nifty item, and just exactly right for this .35 Whelen bolt gun. Problem is, the scope is all dim and looks cloudy. I suspect it has been taken apart at some time.
I'd appreciate any information on a good reconditioner, along with phone number or 'net link.
Best,
Johnny
