Hi guys, this is the deal: I have a freind with a pre-ban Chinese Polytech type 56 AK-47,great condition, low miles, underfolding bayonet, yellow(ish) wood furniture including pistol grip, with 3 mags a maybe 300 rounds of Wolf.
I can buy it outright for $1000, but I have to throw in a battle pack of S. African .308 that i've been hoarding for years.
I already have a decent stable of "toys", so I don't really need it, I just kinda want it, but I'm reluctant to drop a big chunk of change on another gun I don't need, given todays turbulent political and economic situation.
Now.....I also have an AR-15 that I have a tentative offer on of $900-1000, but I'll have to toss in many hundred rounds of Lake City ( I'm guessing 1/2 a case would do).
The rifle has a nearly new condition, 70's manufatured Colt A1 upper,20" barrel with tri-guard foregrip, and the lower is an also pristine Rock River, full stock, with RR BCG and charging handle.
I've had it for several years, and have only run a handful of mags through it, but it fired flawlessly.
I was just advised on another forum that these mil-spec Colt uppers can be worth a grand or so, but would like to confirm that . ( I got it from CDNN for $369).
So, I'm hoping to be talked either into,or out of, this deal:rolleyes:. Any info, advice much appreciated !!! M.

Those are nice and it's worth a grand, but I would not toss in the .308 ammo. AK ammo is coming down. Last week at the gun show in Dayton it was $225 for 1000 rounds of wolf.

I would hang on to the RR/Colt combo AR myself.

Much as I like Ask $1000.00 is a bit steep....get an Arsenal or Lancaster for less....or go to Classic Arms and check out the M72 and AES 10hb RPK builds for $580-789 or thereabouts....

A grand is a coupla hunnert too much for a wood ChiCom. A grand AND a battle pack is highway robbery! A grand for the AR is a good price...FOR THE OTHER GUY!

Keep what you got and shop around.
