Need advice on scoping my stock ruger 10/22

I want to spend from $150-$200 on everything I need to scope my completely stock Ruger 10/22. I would like a good mount too, I've heard the weaver style mounts aren't so good? What are my options? Thanks everyone.

Oh yeah I'm really not concerned with weight whatsoever. I want accuracy and durability. I plan to continue to upgrade the rifle, but having a quality scope setup is one of the most important factors to me. Would something like this scope be suitable to go along with the previously mentioned rings and mount?

One of my main concerns would be getting a scope set up specifically for rimfire rifles, or to at least get a scope with adjustable parallax. I had (have) a 10-.22 that I was ready to abandon as junk, when someone more knowledgeable about rimfire glass pointed out to me that I was using a centerfire scope on a rimfire rifle. (I'd always shot squirrels with open sights, and this was my first attempt at glassing a .22)

Long story short, lo these many years later, I now have a 10-22 that is the scourge of squirrels in my local backlot in October instead of being a "scattergun" that it was before.

when i site in i do two real close shots like sand bagging at a range of 10 feet...make it shoot 2-3 inches low and then move out to 25 yrds and test ,then 50 -100 yards where are when i was young bullets where gold to us no waste.

are just buy a bore adjustment site..sportsman guide sells them cheap

p.s. if your new to shooting man.. i must tell u this...u can have the best scope and custom barrel and ect. but with a stock trigger on that 10/22.. ill run circles around u with the cheapest scope and stock barrel with a hair custom trigger..............

I have one of these on my bull-barreled 10/22 and it's a great adjustable power (3-9x) scope for the money. Parallax is set to 50 yards on most rimfire scopes and this is set that way. I used a Weaver T09 rail to mount the scope and the Bushnell 30mm rings that came with it (which are for dovetail mounting) are just fine.

IF you want a little better scope for under $100, look at the Bushnell 4-12x40AO scope. It has an adjustable objective and the field of view is not bad and the scope is brighter than the rimfire scope. You may need medium height rings to mount the scope especially if you upgrade to a bull barrel at some point.

The trigger needs work on the stock 10/22. Get a Power Custom hammer and sear kit (about $60) and you will get a smooth and crisp trigger with about a 2.5lb pull. Add a bolt buffer to quiet the action.

They have an optics section that has some good advice on mounting and sighting in a scope. If you haven't been there I think you would drool over some of the Rugers there. It is a great site for all rimfire fans.
