So I was having issues sighting in my ruger 10/22 and scope the other day at the range. I decided the first thing i will try is to change out the mounts and rings. Got the old ones off no problem but when i went to put on the new Weaver brand and style mounts one of the screws was too short and striped out the threads on the hole closest to the butt. My question is does anyone think this will make the scope less stable? The other three are screwed in tight and used loc-tite on all of them even the striped one to hold it in place at least. :banghead:

I doubt the fourth screw will make that much of a difference, IF the other 3 stay tight.:)

If you have trouble, you can always re-thread the stripped hole and use a slightly larger diameter screw.

It will not be a problem; Leupold's bases for the 10/22 actually only use the three holes you are talking about.
