Here's another vote for the Ruger SP101 in .357mag. Get the spurless hammer model. IMO a Houge rubber mono-grip is a MAJOR improvement, with the mono-grip the gun seems to melt into my hand. Load it with 125 or 110 grn. bullets and with practice you will find the recoil will become easy to manage, my 16 yr. old daughter can shoot mine quite well. I wouldn't take a .38spl. to a catfight.:D

I'm second in line behind Blues for the outdated Colt you have.
Oh and your up to date J-frame is a 50 year old design that was just a modification of the original hand ejectors that are 100 years old.

The Ruger SP101 makes a great ccw for belt carry. I put Hogue grips on mine and using 125 gr .357's it's pretty easy to handle. Unless you have some very big pockets it's best carried in a belt holster.

I have a S&W M49 and a Colt DS. The 49 is easier to conceal, but as an earlier poster observed the Colt is easier to shoot. I've tried a S&W M10 but I prefer the 49 and the Colt DS. I have no experience with Charter, Taurus, Rossi or Ruger snubbies.

Practice, practice. practice

Learn to shoot whichever revolver you choose. ACP230 is right about this. Go back to basics and put some rounds through that snubbie regularly.
You will be amazed how accurate they are, and you will become a better shooter overall.
Whatever you decide on, enjoy it.

Mark

PS My "snubbie" is a 2 1/2" S&W Model 19 round butt. If I had to choose only one gun to keep, this is it.
