Hello folks,
New to THR, but have been on other forums.
I am a Wisconsin resident moving to a CCW state for law school. I've put away some money, let go of some acquisitions from my Swedish mauser collection, taken the CCW class, and am excited about the right to defend myself and my lovely new wife.
I shoot IPSC, IDPA, etc, with my Glock 17 and Sig 226 9mm. I have been doing a lot of reading about good CCW sidearms and am not afraid about paying extra (reasonably) for quality. I am partial to 9mm (though I do like the 45acp... don't like the 40s&w) for its cost and a lower recoil for my wife (she took the CCW class as well and would be interested only in 9mm).
I am keen on the HK P2000, either in DA/SA or LEM V1 (5lb constant trigger pull). Also up for consideration, HK USP compact, G19. I've never shot a HK p7m8, but I've heard great things (never minding the price for the moment). The Sig 228/229, while a great pistol, is a bit too heavy.
Polymer frame is preferred, as is 9mm.
Have I covered the usual suspects? Anything I should be watching?
