I have an AR-7 .22LR semiautomatic rifle. Specifically, it's marked "Henry US Survival". It's the take down model, where the barrel unscrews from the receiver, the receiver separates from the plastic stock, and all fits inside the stock.
This weapon was the first gun I ever purchased, but I haven't shot more than 100 rounds through it since I bought it in 1999. It's mostly just sat in its box for the past 3.5 years.
Problems:
-The black coating on the plastic stock is flaking off badly, revealing the white plastic underneath.
-The finish on one spot around a screw seems to have worn away.
-I'll have to give it a thourogh cleaning (as soon as I can find a .22 cal bore rod), but the barrel looks to be in poor shape as well.
At least, I need a new stock, or I need to strip and paint the one I have. At most, a new stock and barrel. I'm not especially attached to the "takedown" aspect of this weapon. Can I get on of those AR-7 pistol grip stocks I've seen? If so, from where, and for about how much? CAn I get a new barrel?
Thank you.
