In anticipation of my ccw permit I can either trade my G22 3rd gen for a new G19 4th gen or just carry the 22 (I am built in a way I can). What do you guys think?

If you shoot proficiently with the 22, and the extra $$ for .40 ammo is not an issue, keep it. Save some bucks and buy a used 19 if it still holds your attentions down the road.

My opinion:
trade the G22 for a G26 or G19 and also pick up a little .380

I got a G20 when I got my ccw pemit, I know the G22 is smaller but its the same size class. There is no way you will carry that thing all the time unless you are really dedicated or dont mind people seeing your gun.

I like the .40, but imo it doesnt really do anything a good 9mm cant do (for non-LEO self defense), it also isnt as easy to shoot in the Glock compact or sub compact platform, again, IMO.

Do it. A 19 or 26 will suit you much better for concealed carry. I don't care how big you are, a G22 is a pain to conceal with summer dress. All my friends who insisted on a full size pistol when they got their permit are either not carrying at all now or have bought a sub or compact gun.

Thanks guys. I don't have spare funds right now to get a baby .380 like I want. I will probably carry my CZ82 if I keep it but it sounds like the consensus is downsize.

Do you really expect people to believe that you can not make up your own mind and that you are really going to listen to internet gun gabbers? There is only one person that can determine your carry weapon and that is YOU!

The G26 is such a sweet shooter that there is no reason why you should carry around a G19. Ten rounds for concealed carry is more than enough.

Personally, I have no idea why people try to conceal carry a full-size pistol when there are so many excellent subcompacts available. If you love Glocks, then going with a G26 is a no-brainer.

6yrs ago I switched to a G19 for CC...Way smaller than a Ruger compact:D I now CC a G19 OTW, but smaller stuff goes IWB(LCP,CW9) Can't go wrong with a G19!!

Yes, it works! And with the KKM or Jarvis or Storm Lake drop-in barrels convert it to 9mm or 357 SIG for about $100.
