Hi all, I am looking at a S&W model 59 9mm, nickel plated in NRA fine to excellent shape and was wondering what those more knowledgeable than I thought of this pistol. It is in good shape and the guy who has it has clearly not used it much, he claims a single magazine through it, and I wouldn't be inclined to doubt that too much.
He is asking $600 for it and that seems high to me, but I was wondering what you guys thought. Good pistol or no, and should I try to talk this guy down?
Thank you all.

$600 is REALLY high for what you'd described especially without box & papers. I picked up a blued version for $289 with original box, paperwork, original mag AND receipt about 6 months ago. That piece was in near mint condition.

The 1st generation of 59's are not as desirable IMO because of the lack of a firing pin block and alloy frame.

Absolutely no more than $400 and that's if you're in love with it.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, thanks for confirming me on that one. I believe I will pass on this one since I dont think he will drop $200-$300 off his price.
