No problem that and the 7mm TCU were all the rage back in the day. The 357 Herrett is a fine hunting round for medium game within reasonable range.
Nice Contender, I had one when they first came out.

Mainly my boys shoot it...the rifle barrel and pistol barrel below are .223, then .357 herrett, 357mag and .22lr....my Uncle used the rifle for .223 silhouette competition back in the day

And not to add CornFusion but my Choice of Contender Calibers for Deer and Hogs is a .30 Herrett. It's another 30-30 necked down and cut off. Mine will shoot a 5" group at a hundred yards with an Aimpoint. I shot the barrel out of my first one, unsure how many rounds but a lot over 12 years. I called Thompson and they had stopped production on the 30 Herrett and offered me another barrel. Nooooooo, I'll Wait... Just bore 1 for Me PLEASE. About 2 weeks later a new 30 Herrett showed up. At this point it has less than a hundred rounds shot through it.

That 357 Herrett is a fine hunting round,as is the 30 Herrett. I have been shooting both for many years and enjoy them both. Brass prep is a little tedious, but being a single shot, you don’t normally lose brass, and as long as you have your sizing dies set up correctly, you’ll get many firings from them. It’s also kind of fun to show up at the range with something most people haven’t seen.
