My buddy just bought this P91 used and I have a feeling this pistol has never been disassembled before. It's bone dry and needs some cleaning and lube before taking it to the range.
For the life of me I can't get the slide stop removed from the frame. I can get it mostly out, it just wont come free from the left side of the frame. Therefore I can not remove the dang slide to clean or lube the weapon.
Should I just get a dang punch and try to bang it out of the slide? From my recollection of my P85 back in the early 90's this slide stop is not a captive part. It sure looks like it has to be completly removed to get the slide stop off. However the official Ruger manual does not show the slide stop being removed completly.
Any one have any ideas? They would be much appreciated! This old Grunt is gonna look like an idiot to his civvie friends if I can't get this damm pistol apart, lol.
