OK, so I’m finally going to give in to peer pressure. I’m going to mount an optic on my CAR15. I’ve always used open sights, but now I have my 20”XM15 that I shoot better. I think I shoot the XM better because of its improved sight radius, and full-length stock. I’m going to leave the XM open sighted, but I want to put some kind of optic on the CAR. I was thinking of a holographic or a reflex type sight. I really want an ACOG, but don’t have the cash for that. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions? Does anyone have any experience with these type of sights? I don’t want a cheep optic, but it can’t break the bank either. I was think of a max of $250.00, but maybe a little more if it’s worth it.

Try to find a used EOtech. Hard to beat, except for the higher $tag.

Eotech 511 or 551 $275-$310 used
Acog $500-$675 used... $500 is a great deal if you can find it
Aimpoint will run $400
