I finally got my Yugo/Mauser M48, and thanks to some members on here at a price significantly lower than Mitchell's Mausers. But ...
As predicted, the thing still has a lot of cosmoline on and in it. Started to clean some of it off today and quickly realized that I need to separate the metal parts from the wood parts to do justice to each.
Needless to say, there are no instructions. Can someone take pity on a Mauser neophyte and either explain how to dismember (I mean "disassemble") it, or direct me to a site that has some sort of manual for Mausers?
Looks like a need a special spanner wrench to remove the flush bolt that extends through the action and both sides of the stock. Is there a special Mauser tool I'm looking for, or is there a readily-available universal tool that does the job?
TIA
