This is kinda off topic but I could really use some help finding out what size of a deer blind I can build in Kansas on private property with out it being a taxable structure could use some help from fellow hunters on this it's driving us crazy researching it. It would be nice to have it off the ground if possible but if not that's fine.

Call the tax collector in the county where you want to hunt and I feel certain they can give you the best answer

You're gonna have to check with your local tax assessor.
In my local any permanent structure over 100 sqft is supposed to be taxed but people get around it with tool sheds on skids etc. I found out I can put up my 2000 sqft greenhouse with post hole footings and anchors and its considered temp and no tax, but if I put poured footings and a row of block at the base its taxed. Zoning makes a difference here also if the property is Ag or other.

Ty for the information so far everyone =) and Kingcreek that's very interesting may I ask what state your from?

Ground blind ....using material from downed trees. Build them correctly and they last a long time.

Taxable structure........... you guys are really over thinking this project. JMO.

Downed trees? What are those? We are talking Kansas here...we're lucky to have any trees in the first place.

I frequently hunt in areas that have not trees or at the very least the trees aren't the best position to be in for getting good shots. I'm more likely to have concealment from dead weeds or crops than trees.

Haul an old bread truck or box trailer out of some farmer's lot for free and park it. If it doesn't have wheels/axels it cannot be propelled down a public highway and is therefore not a vehicle according to Kansas law.

Perhaps the best blind you can have is a farmers barn wood cattle feeder.

I killed more ducks & geese out of one them then you can put in Donald Trumps penthouse pool.

Or something hollowed out that looks like a big round hay bale.

Neither are likely to get a second glance by any wildlife after it has been there a day or two.
Or by any tax collector anywhere!!

(Unless you put in electricity, central heat, a flush toilet, and a big yard light!)

A buddy here has a deer / turkey blind that he calls the 'Mouse House'.

It is built on posts 6' off the ground overlooking a big grain plot.

And it's bigger then my bedroom!
With sliding / fold down glass shooting windows for three, facing the field.
With a propane catalytic heater.

Sporting, or not?
He built it to teach his seven grandkids how to hunt when they were first old enough to hold up a gun.
He doesn't use it himself, preferring to set in a tree stand in freezing weather & ice, even though he is 70 years old.

No tax levied on the Mouse House yet.
And if anyone in Kansas were going to tax it?
Douglas county would be the first one in line to do it!

There's a Mennonite family out here in JF county that builds barns, sheds and elevated deer blinds . I've seen the blinds set up on people's land around and haven't heard of them being taxed.
And like rc says, if any county would tax a deer stand it would be DG county.
