I came across a picture of this SBR, but unfortunately it had no info about the manufacturer, caliber, etc. I would especially like to know who makes the lower receiver. I've always wanted a dedicated pistol caliber (.45 acp) AR style carbine or SBR, but I don't want to use a standard AR lower (i.e. Olympic Arms).

That looks like the Double Diamond Law Enforcement supply lower. The make lowers for the Colt style 9mm mags and Glock small and large grip magazines. Like everyone else they are backed up on their orders.

Thanks lcambre!

Just went to their website and you are right on both counts - they do make these lowers :D - and they are all out of stock :banghead: ... but it appears they only come in 9mm, except the lowers that take the Glock mags.

I think our only hope is to get plans from someplace like CNCGunsmithing and mill our own.

AR45 plans

Me I've wanted to build my own version of a LaFrance M16K-45 for some time now. I've fiddled around with making mock ups of the final product. With that AR45 Design I would have to redesign it to run off Thompson Stick magazines. Plus find a SOT Manufacturer who is willing to build said custom rifle and supressor.

I think Bazooka brothers still makes a dedicated .45 lower.

IIRC the magwell looks normal from the outside, but is sized for a grees gun mag internally

The Double Diamond lowers really look good from the photos, I appreciate the attention to detail in making the magwell conform to the 9mm magazine depth. I know it's superficial, but the 9mm magazines always look goofy to me hanging out of a .223 magwell.
