need help with a springfield 511

having grief removing the barrels on my springfield 511 double bbl. .....after taking the fore stock off, what else has to be done or removed besides opening the action ? really appreciate your help

That's all...

Remove the forestock. Open the action all the way. If you don't open it all the way up it won't work. The barrels will come off in your hand when you break it open.

clemson, thanks for trying but i too thought the same..it wont. unlike a savage 311..the forestock is held by a screw only, no tension, no spring. juxt removing it makes no mechanical difference.
