I am thinking about buying an Arsenal SGL21 chambered in 7.62x39mm. I've been doing some research and have come up with some questions.

First of all, I've seen that there are different types of SGL21s. To be specific, does anyone happen to know the differences between SGL21-61s and SGL21-71s?

Also, I've been shopping online for them and the best prices seem to be these 6 choices between 4 websites.

Prices from lowest to highest:
First
Second
Third
Fourth
Fifth
Sixth

Which one of these sites should I order off of? Does anyone have any experience ordering off any of these sites? Do the listed prices reflect what the customer will actually be paying? Are there going to be any hidden fees regarding FFL shipping requirements, etc? Are they reliable in terms of selling good quality products, or would I possibly get a lemon SGL21 with a canted sight? (Yes, I've read even the ever-so-holy SGL21s can come with canted sights :()

Please help me, I really want to buy an AK. :)

differences between SGL21-61s and SGL21-71s?

The 21-61 is a Warsaw length stock. The 21-71 is a NATO length stock. Basically the stock on the 21-71 is an inch and half longer. They're both black polymer stocks though and the two rifles are identical in every other respect.

As for the websites listed. No I haven't ordered from any of them myself. Yes they're all reputable places and I'd willingly buy from any of them.

There will be extra fees to consider. Please note that with some of those sites the price listed is for a cash or check transaction. If you pay with a credit card you may pay a little bit more, probably about 3 percent. But if you can wait a week for a check to be mailed and clear then that's not a problem. You will also have to pay shipping and handling. Figure that will be $15-$25. Plus you'll need to pay a local FFL to transfer the weapon to you. That will also be $15-$25. On the plus side you won't pay sales tax with most of those unless you live in the same state.

I don't know how many of them will stand behind their products. Arsenal does offer a warranty, I think for one year, on their rifles. However it won't cover a canted sight unless it's really canted. If it's just a hair or two off they'll fix it, but not for free. They do test fire the rifles though so even though canted sights do happen they're still fairly rare. If you get one that's just slightly off and it's really bugging you then you do have two other options. #1 Buy an RPK windage adjustable rear sight. #2 Spray your FSB with WD40, wrap it in a towel, and strike with a hammer until it's straight. Don't overdo it though, you're just trying to move it a little bit.

I'd also recommend you check your local LGS. Almost every one in my area had an SGL 21-61 in stock and two of them had them for $720 which is a good price.

Scottsdale Gun Club had them for 699 a few months ago when my buddy bought one. It's a really well built rifle.

Right after I posted those links, the links to the 2 cheapest suddenly go out of stock overnight. Thanks guys :scrutiny:
