Hello everybody. I have a Springfield M1A Scout Squad and am trying to sight in with iron sights. I read on the internet :scrutiny:, that you can get zero at 25m creating a zero for 200m. I have bottomed out the rear sight and still the POI is 4" above the bullseye. And let's say that's the best i can do, what will the zero be at 100's of meters. Thanks for you responses.

I bought it brand new. Yes, I left out that important information. I had to change the front sight to a regular standard front sight when the I broke the leaf off. As far as I can recall, the front sight post is of the same height of the original front sight.

Has anyone else shot it to see if its you or the rifle??

I zeroed in my Ruger AR 556 the same time I zeroed in my M1A and the AR zeroed easily at 25m.

You're right about 25m and 200m zero being about the same. I have a M1A standard and sighted it in at 25M without any trouble.

My extensive research in the internet:scrutiny::confused:, showed that the front sight differ from the Standard, Socom and Scout Squad because of the barrel lengths. My initial replacment front sight was the cheapest I could find - $19 - and I honestly forget where I bought it online. The Springfield website did how that the Scout Squad, which I have, uses the National Match .062 blade and I purchased one last night an M1A/M14 National Match Kensight front site. Hopefully this work will this time.
