I'm looking for a low price 9mm or 40 cal it can be used. It will be a range gun
i have about 600$ to spend. I was looking at a beretta 92 or m9 i would get a cop gun but have no clue how to get a LE gun or were to look. I was also looking at some glocks i like the look of the new ruger SR9 but they are being recalled so what would you get (they all fit me)and how much would you pay.

thanks for the help

As far as police trade ins, try to rent the same model and shoot it before you take the plunge. Just because a department issues a certain firearm, doesn't mean it will fit your hand. $600 can buy you a lot of gun, if you keep your eyes open.

Consider one of the Glock 34 or 35 variants....or ,get some good steel for the cash and get a CZ75.
To tell the truth;Taurus has been making some interesting products as of late (OSS anyone??)

Get one of those Sig P225's for 279 bucks, then use the extra cash to buy a case of ammo. They are German police trade in's and you just can't beat that price for a real Sig.

Any Springfield Armory XD series pistol or a S&W M&P. Presently own 3 XDs, two 45s and a 40, and have shot all of them except the ported ones and the .45GAP. Shortly I will be getting another, just haven't made up my mind if it should be a 9mm, either Subcompact or Service, or a 40 Service.

I also have a S&W M&P 9mm, full-size, which is a pretty good shooting gun. I just might give it to my wife though when I get my next XD because I just shoot the XDs better than almost any other gun I've shot. Which covers a heck of a lot of guns because the range where I shoot has plenty to rent and almost any time they have Demo days I take advantage of what ever manufacturer is being represented.

S&W M&P or CZ75. The SP01 variant of the latter has a heavier frame, higher visibility sights and a 19-round magazine, which should make it better for pure target shooting.

.

Go Glock. G22 or G23 would serve you very well.

In my part of the country, used .40 S&W Glocks are common, as they're cop trade-ins (most LEOs carry Glock .40 S&W around here).

The infrastructure for Glock replacement parts and aftermarket accessories is vast--you won't want for anything!

What's more, the G22 or G23 can be readily converted to .357 Sig by dropping in an OEM .357 Sig barrel. Both guns can alse be converted to 9mm with a drop-in .40 S&W to 9 mm Conversion Barrel, and some magazines.

You are aware that firing a 9 mm and .40 S&W are quite different experiences? I find the .45 ACP to be easier shooting than the .40 S&W. I think most would agree. The ammo savings between .40 and .45 is minor. My G17 paid for itself in a year on ammo savings alone, over shooting .45 ACP.

If it's a dedicated range gun, consider some premium target sights, like Dawson Precision Fiber Optic Adjustables.

Depending on the dealer, you might do well if you have him put a "package" together for you--gun, sights, ammo, taxes and fees, for your $600.00. You buy at retail, he doesn't. While they can't sell much at too high a mark-up, it's likely cheaper than you buy, on most items.

My newest Glock, a G17 9 mm, has better than 11,000 rounds on it, without one hiccup. Our G19 & G21 have similar histories. Believe me, this spoils you!

Best of luck with whatever you do!

If you like the beretta 92 why not try a taurus pt92? Use the money you saved to buy more ammo. Taurus has a lifetime repair policy.

Beretta is too big. Get a Glock 23. It's a .40 a conversion barrel makes it .357 or 9mm, you can probably get one used in your price range. If you think it's too big get a Glock 26, although in my experience the prices are higher on the Sub Compacts.

A Smith and Wesson M&P can be had new for about that price; supposedly, there is/was a rebate deal for money back and 2 additional magazines. One of my friends has one, and loves it--no issues whatsoever. Besides, you can adjust the grip to fit you.

Listen to your government, they asked for a pistol that would fit anyone, and be reliable under extreme neglect, with a .30 caliber projectile. fifteen times 9mm is a potent deterrent. I put a lot of rounds through two. I was very pleased. when financing changed, I got me two more, and I have no regrets. ( I do have others for other applications). I do not consider a 92 to be concealable. For that i think keltec is taking the prize at present. (P32, P3At, P9, P11).
enjoy your search for perfection.

I think you might out to take a look at one of the new SIG p250s. They have a seriously smooth trigger pull. You can also get a certified pre-owned Sig for under $600. If you like the feel of Berettas, the Stoeger Cougar has got to be the best deal there is. I got mine for $350 and it is slick as a Swiss watch. It cycles any ammo no problem. It's accurate. The fit and finish is fantastic. The recoil is very light. And the price is silly.

it would be between the glock 19, from the list that you rprovided, i would give ruger and the sr9 sometime, or i would reccomend my favorite which isn't on your list which would be an xd service model, take your pick in caliber they are all great

Any Glock in 9mm 17/19/26/34 you can't go wrong.

in the .40 caliber I like either Sig or HK. Either one is great in this caliber.

I would def. look into a CZ or a CZ clone, such as the baby eagle. They are fine weapons for the money. The baby eagle in .40 is a beast.

Browning Hi Power

............$600 will buy you a nice used Browning Hi Power, the king of 9mm's IMHO........:D

Thanks for all the help. it looks like most of you would go with a glock. is a glock easy to use this will by my frist auto. I'm looking more at 9mm than 40. the Stoeger Cougar and CZ look like nice guns but I think I will go with a glock.

I bought my second CZ pistol a couple weeks ago, I love it. The new one is a PCR, feels great in the hands, trigger seems pretty heavy to me right now, but the hammer hits the firing pin so hard there's no way any proper ammunition could have a light strike.

Really reliable so far, when I first took it out I shot a variety of bullets through it, including mixed magazines, to see if it would hang up with any of them. Didn't, ate everything.

CZ is awesome. I also have a Glock 27 that's great for carry, if you get a Glock I also think you should look into going the .40 route, several barrel makers offer drop-in 40-9 conversion barrels, and stock .357 barrels will work perfectly in them. I love multi-caliber.
