Hi,

I just bought the rifle and I do not know if I did the right thing or not... I want to use it as a bush gun for dear, elk and may be moose, bear.

I like having the information on hand, like BC of the bullet, case dimensions, etc.

Anybody has this information? I made some google search, and found in one web site that BC would be 0.4. I wonder if that is true...

Other questions I have are;

- Where can I get cases for reloading?
- Where can I get Leverevolution bullet (Did it become available).?

Thanks...

Both those questions have the same answer, Hornady makes the Brass and the Bullets since they did develop the .308 Marlin Express with Marlin.

Here's the link for the Marlin Express LEVERevolution bullet.

Here's the link for Hornady .308 Marlin Express Ammo

**EDIT** Sorry, I just realized the links above state: "Coming Soon." I thought they were already out.

I suggest using it on "Deer" not "Dear". The Police take a dim view of you shooting your wife or girlfriend......... (or husband or boyfriend).

Go to www.marlinowners.com for MUCH more and better information than you'll get here.

It's actually a variant of the .307wcf. (a little shorter with newer powders and the Hornady 160gr "gummy-tip" version of the SST.)
Enough different that they aren't interchageable.

For practical purposes (assuming you reload,as the Hornady ammo is the only factory ammo available at the moment), the Remington 150 and 170gr RN Corlokts will be excellent bullets but won't have the long-range trajectory of the Hornady "LeverEvolution" (not a "revolution" if you've been reloading for the .30/30, .35, and .45/70 like I have).
The Speer 130, 150, and 170 FN will also be good. The Speer 165gr RN will come closest to approximating the trajectory of the 160gr L.E. bullets until they (if ever) become available to reloaders.
(I doubt they will, since that way you'll have to buy the Hornady factory ammo -----------------).
Cases are available from the "ususal" sources. (MidwayUSA, Grafs, Midsouthshooterssupply, ect.)

You've got a good rifle. Almost as good as the "Hype" it's gotten.

It will do fine for your stated purposes. Especially if you shoot left-handed. (The reason I like my numerous lever actions).
