i just picked up a EX-LN HK 91. rifle says on right side...
" Made in Germany
HK Inc.
Arl. Va 22 201
Kal. .308"
left side says...
"HK 91 A 0338**"
then a date code (i think) of IB
the prvious owner says he bought it new in '81. its a real safe queen. no claw marks no dings, dents ect. factory extended mag release and case deflector, 4 factory HK powdercoat mags, loading tool and sight tool. green HK sling. black stock all original.
i was wondering what kind of resale value i can get.
thanks for the help.

COHIBA, your sounds like a solid 99%.

According to the Standard Catalog of Firearms 2002 (this years will be higher) it is valued at $2750.00. I'd peg it evenly at $2,800.00.

Of course the resale value of any gun is what someone else is willing to pay for it. But I'd day your gun shouls fetch $2500, plus or minus $250, depending on which area of the country you live in, and how badly some collector wants it.

I wouldn't sell mine for less than $2500.

I paid... well, more than $2k, less than $3k... for my cherry IC datecode HK91 with shell deflector, carrying handle, fixed & folding stocks, 4 20-rd mags and 2 5-round mags last fall.

Geez, aren't you a gun dealer?!!

Actually, I would have said $2300 to $2600, so I'm with most everybody else.

I moniter these things, but can't commit.

Tamara, you should deduct 55% of the guns value for the following reason.

with shell deflector

Why god, why? Why would you let her put one of those "instant finish destroyers" on such a fine weapon? :D

SteyrAUG,

A) It came there.

B) It pre-destroys the finish before all the little finish-destroyers spewing out the side of the gun get a chance to do it.

BTW, did you ever notice that Daewoos leave some amazing brass racing stripes on the receiver?

You know, if you actually shoot them, the finish around the ejection port doesn't fair much better.

Handy, are you saying I should actually shoot them? Won't that require takling them out of the glass display case? Wont the brass case of a bullet scratch up the internals? If I fire the round, won't the gun get dirty?
