Just a warning...

Let's keep this to GUN-RELATED issues. Taxes, social issues, etc. really aren't on-topic and will drift this thread into the lock.

Thanks...

when looking at the metro DC area, you really want to live as close as possible to where you work. MD is ok, not like VA but unless you have a serious need for CCW or order ammo online, I think you will find MD to be fine. As one other poster said, if you need hi-cap mags, just drive to PA (or even VA) and buy as much as you want. You are allowed to own evil black rifles, you just have to wait the required waiting period.

The thing that prevented me from movig to MD from VA for a new job was that I buy a lot of ammo online and most places won't ship ammo to MD for some reason. I don't want to be tied to buying ammo locally from Dicks/Walmart or some gunshop where usually the prices are way high.

I used to live in NYS ... MD before that. By comparison, PA is far more gun-friendly. You just have to make your decision based on your higher priorities.

I lived in MD for most of my life, Baltimore and parts just south, and about seven years ago I moved to PA and have never looked back. I like just about everything better here, but since we are on THR I will say that in PA you actually have "right to bear arms" rights here as opposed to MD. I think there are plenty of areas in PA that would keep your commute to around 45 minutes each way. Not optimal, but if you want that PRIVILEGE it will be necessary.

I can honestly say that the only thing that I miss about MD is the bay and it's tributaries. I do miss crabbing.
