OP here. Finally back after a lot of traveling. I appreciate all the replies, everyone.
I will be taking more measures on security when I get a house, but for now I can' do much about it. I reinforce the door of my apt when I am home, or at least before going to bed. This should be my last year renting, I've got a very solid down payment ready. In fact I have been trying to scope up a fixer upper, but the ones with semi descent bones sell so fast and I am inexperienced and slow with my research and decision making perhaps.
Based on the suggestions I will be contacting Eastern and Collectibles Insurance Services for quotes. As I noted, my basic coverage for guns on the renter's policy is $1,500 and I am further past that limit than I want to be. I am sure the insurance I need will be cheap. Gun wise I have 7 handguns, with several being basic m&p 9s, s&w model 64, and a couple of $1,200 cz customs. Then a generic 22lr, a couple of mid range ar15, and rem 700 adl. Then plenty of mags, although I think my insurer said magazines would not count against $1,500 renter's policy gun limit.
