Need optics mounting solution for my 870.

I would like to mount an Eotech on my 870. I can't get a new barrel as my shotgun is a 14 inch registered shortbarrel shotgun. Anyone know of a smith that can mount a weaver rail to the top of my reciever.

In South Africa, I knew a gentleman (he really was a gentleman! - great guy) who mounted the side rail from an AK-47 to his Remington 870, with the help of his gunsmith. He had a side-rail scope mount lowered a little, and from then on, had a great instant-on-and-off scope system. Might be worth considering...

You mount an AR pistol grip and stock to you
shotgun with built in rail.

And why can't you get a new barrel isn't it your receiver that registered as a short barreled weapon - as long as you don't have your barrel on any other receiver you should be ok I would think.

Thanks for the link. I coult get a new barrel but its vang comped and the whole gun is finished in Rogard and NP3 it would be expensive to start over with a new barrel.
