I have been reloading my 460 for a little bit maybe done a hundred rounds. Well I have a few rifles and was given dies for a few so looking for powders that would cover most or all of these calibers. I have been looking though the manuals and have ideas but thought maybe someone with expericance could point me to a good group of 3 or 4 powders to work in most of these.

270 win
30-06
45-70
25-06
243
7mm-08
7mm rem mag
getting a 260 rem this summer
223

Thinking of doing a order for some primers and powder since places closest to me don't have much selection. Mostly a new to reloading but don't want to be stuck with powders I don't have much use for . Already have one of those here.

yeah thats where I was going to order, need to mail them ID first. So was trying to decide what powders to add.

IMR or AA-4064 should take care of most, if not all, of the rounds listed. Also, Varget and Re-15 are very versitile.

As I'm sure you know what works for me in my rifles might not necessarily work for you but I can tell you what powders have worked for me in the past. I haven't loaded for all of the calibers you listed but I will list the ones I have loaded for.

270 Win & 25-06 IMR or H4831

30-06 - So many good powder for the 30-06
165gr bullet and heavier I like IMR or H4350
For lighter bullets I use 4895 or IMR4064, Varget will work well too.

45-70 for Trapdoor type loads I like Trail Boss or H4198. H4198 will also work well for levergun loads.

223 - The .223 isn't as picky as some other calibers. With a 55gr bullet I just love using Varget. Other powders that work well are BL-C(2) and the classic powder for the 223 is H335.

The above powders are just my opinion based on my past. There are other powders that will work well too but I have no experiance with them. I'm sure others will be by soon to add to the list. Unlike the past there are many good powders around today.

W-W 760 or H414 will cover most of them, and being a spherical powder, it flows through a powder measure much more consistantly than extruded powders.

Add H335 and you've got them all covered.

Ramshot XTerminator for .45-70 and .223

Ramshot Hunter for all the others except where you want max velocity in .25-06, .270 and 7mm Rem Mag. then I would go to Ramshot Magnum.

These three powders are dense ball powders that will meter exceptionally.;)

The 4350's are gonna be the best compromise...4064 will work but in a 7mm mag probably not the best. 223 is the odd man out, get something around H4895 or Varget
