I have a handful of older 22 rimfire rifles that I'm interested in having refinished. I was thinking about having a few done at a time to save some costs. Primarily just barrel reblueing (I can handle the stocks). I'd prefer something local to SW Missouri or NW Arkansas within driving distance so I don't have to ship them. But I would consider recommendations for a gunsmith or refinishing service out-of-area that did quality work for a decent price.

These are mostly pre-serial number 22's of various manufacturer - none of which have any real collector value. Let me know if y'all have suggestions.

Thanks.

"Quality work for a decent price" doesn't normally exist. Any hot blue refinish will cost a minimum of $150 for a 240 grit polish and blue. More polish equals more money. You might find someone who would do a bead blast and blue for a little less but then you have a dull finish to live with. Look into Duracoat, if you have several to do, it might be economical to buy a Harbor Freight air brush and do it yourself.

Firearm coatings & surface treatments.....

Some big names & services are out there. Depending on your budget, tastes, time issues(delivery-service) you can find what works best for you.

I like Metalife, Cerakote(with the added Armor-Clear/low gloss), Robar NP3+, Rocky Mountain Arms Bearcoat, APWcogan.com .

Contact the shop or applicator first. Be aware of payment, time(delivery), service warranty-replacement, etc.
