Yesterday I was able to sight through an unusual rifle scope. The scope seemed to me to be as clear as any Nightforce, of which I have two, and noticeably better than the Leupold's that I have. In examining the scope, the only markings as to who manufactured it were on the bottom of the scope under the windage, elevation, and focus knobs (side focus). The writing was:
Ultra
20 X M1
L & S Inc.

The scope is a fixed power (20X) and came on a Cooper that was bought used from a dealer who had no knowledge about the scope.
If anyone might have some information on this scope, I would greatly appreciate it. I would love to have an 8X -32X made by these people if they are still in business. The clarity of this scope is amazing. Thanks in advance for any info.

If it is a Leupold, I believe they still make a 2.5-8x32 scope. I have had one on my primary deer rifle for years and still prefer it to any other scope I have.

Coltdriver, yes it is the mil dot reticle. Can't swear to the 30mm tube, but maybe. The serial number is 0249

Well if it is the mil dot reticle then you have a scope that is worth a fair amount of money. The early L&S Scopes were military/police only units and they are very well built. Got a ruler? Measure across the tube.
