Need scope recomendation.

Hello,
I'm looking into scopes for a future purchase in the next couple of months.
1, LEUPOLD OPTICS VX-III 3.5-10X40MM DUPLEX RETICLE GLOSS FINISH for $439
and
2, BURRIS FULLFIELD II 3.5-10X50MM PLEX RETICLE GLOSS BLACK FINISH at $301
3, BURRIS FULLFIELD II 3.5-10X50MM BALLISTIC PLEX RETICLE MATTE FINISH at $322
3, BURRIS SIGNATURE SELECT 3X-12X-44MM BALLISTIC PLEX RETICLE MATTE is also in consideration at $390

The prices are off of midsouth shooters, would not go there to buy them for sure.

I am also wondering about the Ballistic plex feature. This will go on a 7mm-STW. Is it helpfull for shooting out to ~400 yards at an elk or deer??
How far are the dots apart??

I can't comment on any of the specific scopes that you listed seeing how I don't own and have not personally used any of them, but if this is your hunting rifle I would consider sticking with the 40mm scopes. To me, for a pure hunting rifle, 50mm scopes are just to big and too heavy.
