So I'm currently looking at the 3 scopes below for a .308 scout rifle project. Has anyone used these or have a recommendation? Currently leaning towards the Burris 2-7X with Ballistic plex reticle.

Aimpoint 9000L 2x Red Dot Sight

Leupold FX-II 2.5x28mm Scout

Burris 2-7x32 Scope w/ Ballistic plex reticle

Thanks ahead of time. :)

I have used all three. The Leupold is my favorite and the Aimpoint my least favorite.

The Burris has an adjustable ocular, which is nice - the others do not. Anything other than a heavy plex reticle would not be my choice for reticle, and I did not even think that Burris offered the Ballistic Plex in their scout scope.

The Aimpoint is optically not the equal of the Leupold or Burris, and is relatively heavy.

The only one I've used (quite extensively) is the Leupold scout scope. I've been very happy with it and would buy it again without hesitation. You really can't go wrong with a Leupold scope in general.

I have used the Leupold and the Burris. I found the eye relief more forgiving on the Leupold ... and I don't see the value of a variable on a scout.

Another vote...

Palo--for the Leupold. Works just fine on the pseudo-scout I made out of a Yugo M-48. Kilt a deer with it this past autumn. 'Scope nice & clear. M-48 holds to 1.5 MOA out to 200 yd. (No target rifle, of course, but fine for hunting!)

I don't think Mr. Leupold knows HOW to make a bad 'scope! :)

I have the leupold scout on my Marlin GS 45-70 I like it very well. Leupold has A new 2x7 variable scout out now, might be just the thing.
Only place I know that has them is Grizly custom guns.

I bought a used Leupold for $150 a few months ago. I finally bought my rifle today. I knew it'd happen eventually!

I have the Leupold and a Burris, though not the exact one described by the OP. The Leupold is of very high quality, with repeatable adjustments and pretty good glass. The Burris isn't as good. It works, but I'm glad I don't have to depend on it.

Regarding fancy reticles, variable power, and other bells and whistles, well, I don't see the utility. each to his own, of course.

I have a Burris fixed power scout scope on my SOCOM 16. I have a Leupold scout scope on a Schmidt-Rubin K31 pseudoscout.
Love both. Both do their job well.

I have the fixed power 2.75x Burris scout scope on my Frontier rifle. Great scope for the $$. I had a Nikon 2-7x eer scope on a 336 for some time and never used more than 4x as you lose too much field of view 5x-7x on a scout set up. Don't waste your $, go with a fixed power Leupold or Burris true IER scope.

i should mention that I also have a 30 dollar NCStar that I picked up just to have around for load testing in military rifles that I want to put back in their original configuration. It works, but it's no leupold that's for sure. When it matters, I take the Leupold, but you could get by going cheap if you had to do so. given your options you obviously don't have to though.

I have the 2-7x32mm NcStar IR Long Eye Relief Scope on my Mosin Nagant "Scout" rifle and it works very well. It was built as a fun project for the amusement factor only. Considering the $55 I paid for the scope I expected a lot less that this scope has given. I've been pleasently surprised.

I go back and forth between the Aimpoint T1 (check out midways R1/h1 pricing!) and a Leupold M8 Scout Scope. I prefer the red dot.
