Need some advice on 9mm powder

For 9mm soft-shooting target/comp loads, Vihtavuori n320 is the go-to powder for many competitors using 124gr-147gr bullets.
4.0 grs (1/2 full case) under a 124/125gr bullet gives about 1050'-1060'/sec.
accurate
soft recoil/flip
cool burning
low/no flash
clean
not temp sensitive (in S.TX temp ranges: 20-110+degs)
not positional
meters very well
single base powder
Expensive (until you figure out the per cartridge load requirement)

I've always used Bullseye or Green Dot in 9mm.

Tried some W231 loads with 125gr & 147gr Bear Creek. Good accuracy and leading seemed less than with the other powders. I will be pursuing these further. ;)

Green Dot is a very bulky powder & would be well suited to somebody who was concerned with double charging. A four-ish grain charge fills the case nicely.

I've been intrigued by STEEL since it came out, mostly for use in magnum revolver cartridges. But I haven't tried it because I suspect it measures about like cornflakes. (Is that about right?) Does it perform well, or is it too "peaky" (or have other Blue Dot-like bad habits)

From my 10mm notes,
"200 gr.
..
Steel 200 gr. .658, WLP, 14 gr., 1.3", case full, powder could be
compressed more, Barsto, ok, [no Alliant data] .."

I was simply working up loads from nothing, looking for how much power I could get.
Steel was too bulky for 10mm to get max power or pressure, which means it is too bulky for ~ half of pistol cartridges, but not the other half.

Quickload has no library data, there is no published data, and I have no chrono data. I simply went on recoil and reading the brass.

My reloads are for target/range use. I use Bullseye for 9MM, 357 Mag, and 45 ACP. It produces accurate loads and drops consistently from my powder measure.

Ive always have good results with power pistol. I keep 4 lb containers of this on hand because it has so many applications with the majority of handgun cartridges.

I like Viht 3N37 the best for 9mm. I only use 9mm for range stuff, so I tend to load lighter loads. Good clean powder with low flash. Accurate loads too. I use a low charge, just a little over starting, with 115gr. Rainier plated bullets for target loads. Just enough to cycle my Glock 17L with a 15lb spring. Shoots one ragged hole at closer ranges, and nice groups farther out. Best load I have for accuracy, better than the Hornady XTP with the same powder even.

I'm about to load a batch of 115 gr 9mm with Longshot, which is a good powder for the application. I'm running 5.3 grains at 1.130" OAL.
