ok i came across kind of a crazy deal and need some advice and input on whether its worth it:

by my count all in all thats 20 guns and the guy wants to sell it as a lot for $5000 OBO

It sounds like your first instinct, to hesitate saved you some real money.

Carefully choose what you want and build a small arsenal over time instead of trying to get it at once. You will get what you want and save some money in the long run.

Seems a little high, even with ammo and accessories. I can also honestly say that I don't really care for a single gun in the package (or I already own it, which is only a couple)...so I would pass.

Thanks for the input. I thought it seemed kinda high but wasn't sure. I wasn't sure on the value of several of those. I was pretty interested in the Mosins but I know they typically run in the neighborhood of 100

Yep, I would offer about $60-75/Mosin and see what happens. If you aren't interested in the M-44 (and he is willing part it out for a good price, which I doubt) I might be interested. I have a friend that lives nearby (in Hope Mills), so I wouldn't mind the drive...for the RIGHT PRICE. No big deal for me, one of those rifles that I figure I will stumble on at some point.
