Need some help from the AR people.

2 wheels, Again Ive checked this. Also Troy's gas block sight has swivel mounts built in... kinda hard to miss.

W.E.G. Both BCM and TROY have pretty epic reputations both here and anywhere else you read about them. If I still had a lathe at home I could make this square easily, I figured these two 'leaders of industry' with so much good rep could too. Silly me.
Is it really accepted that these rails, meant to mount sights and such, arent all that stable? This is pretty disgusting.

Swiss, Right now it has a low profile gas block with 2 hex lock screws on it. I think I would, at this point, rather switch to a gasblock sight. Any suggestions? (Becides talking to BCM first- I am going to call them tommorrow)

I am kind of bummed out, I went with this setup thinking that with the flip sights and 11in rail I would have more sight radius. Sight radius dont mean squat if the basis isnt stable.

Yeah sorry, no suggestions for you there. Honestly, my experience only goes as far as knowing that gasblock mountable sights do exist and are available. :)

(I've only used fixed A2 sights and floating rail mounted flip-up sights like it sounds you have on your rail tube.)

Am I the only one waiting for BCM to weigh in? This thread makes me glad I did not go with a BCM upper recently.

Edited as the OP was not clear on the problem and my statement doesn't appear to apply to the real problem.

It was only a matter of time.

I honestly never understood all of the love for BCM and chalked most of it up to group think over on the "other" forum. Nothing better, or worse about their stuff and it sounds like their sales have outgrown their ability to provide CS. Pretty typical of a small company.

Nonsense.

At least let them try to fix it again before we start bashing one of the best upper builders out there. It's obvious they completely missed the original problem. Mistakes happen.

Send it back.

One person has a problem and you make this claim? The "Love" For BCM comes from the fact they are putting out a superior product to 99% of the market. They are one of about half a dozen companies that are actually worth spending money on.

I don't personally own a single BCM product but I have in the past and their reputation is well deserved.

To the OP send them another email. Request that one of them call you to discuss the issue. Paul or one of his guys will take care of you.

Should have bought a Colt 6940 if you want properly-aligned frontage rail estate.
The completely-ONE-PIECE upper receiver starts at the buffer tube and ends at the gas block.

Not a feature unique to Colt and theirs is hardly the original and certainly neither the best or most affordable. The VLTOR VIS and the LMT MRP come immediately to mind that predate the Colt and are more likely to be on a rifle that I own (personal preference in addition to cost).

Did you REALLY think the completely-separate-part rails on the aftermarket front handguards were going to be square with the completely-separate-partupper receiver rail?

Yes. Not at all an unrealistic expectation given modern manufacturing methods. How is it any different from expecting a FSB to be square to the receiver since the FSB is a totally separate part installed on the barrel which is a totally separate part? All my rails are square to my upper receivers (3 different brands and 2 different basic designs and only the Samson was as expensive or as well respected a brand as the Troy in question).

Gentlemen, first off BCM has been nothing but helpful. I think this is more of a TROY issue, I just went to BCM because I bought it as a set from them. Now that I see the mounting issue I am going to talk to BCM and see what they say.

Honestly, After the first issue with Troy and the canted sight, and now this with their rail, I'm not so annoyed with BCM...

Other then this rail, Everything about this BCM gun has been flawless. about 500 rds through and not one hiccup.

Well, I have had a resolution to this. BCM has offered me a full refund for the upper. I intend to order another BCM upper, just maybe not one with another TRX...

Pretty good for service, eh?
