I met a knife maker while I was taking my CCW class a little over a year ago. He has some interesting designs and very quality work. He just contacted me to find someone that does kydex sheath work. The reason that he needs kydex is that his nephew is heading to the sandbox in about a month and he has crafted some pretty nasty blades that he wants to send with him. Do any of you know anyone or have the means yourself to take care of made to order sheathes (kydex)? He would like a price list or contact info. This is not a "please donate" thing, he definately is a paying customer. The only catch is, the clock is ticking and he would like to send the blades with his nephew. Please let me know if there is anyone to fit the bill on this matter.

here is a forum where lots of sheath makers hang out http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16
put in your request there and you should have a few responses.

there is also a tutorial on how to make kydex sheaths in there somewhere. if he is interested in trying it on his own its not too hard in most cases. all you need is a dremel or sander, a drill, a oven or heat gun, kydex, kydex rivets, hammer or press, rivet setter.

Thanks folks! I am passing on any info as it comes in. Any others, keep them coming.

Two kydex makers I have experience (although limited to one sheath each) with and would recommend are Tom Krein of Kreinknives (www.kreinknives iirc) and Brian Wagner (I think that's his name, I'm used to just seeing the name Oku, or Okuden) of Okuden.net. Below are pics of both. The Busse Natural Outlaw has the Krein sheath, the other pic shows a custom knife from Okuden along with his sheath. Both sheaths kicked !@#!. Contact them, let them know where the blades are headed, and perhaps they'll figure something out to help.

If you want leather, try Dwayne Puckett, who did these sheaths for me below.

All three of these guys I'd recommend in a heartbeat. I'd also buy them a beer anytime.
Good luck,

I had On/Scene Tactical make up a bunch of custom sheaths for my Frost Moras (the factory sheath is 'ornamental').

Quality is excellent - on par with a good kydex holster. Price was fantastic. Here's the webpage:

Here's the sheath:
