So......work has finally slowed down, my new toy got out of jail, my threaded CZ is ready to go and I just picked up a new Ruger PCC to play with and the new 550B is lined up and ready....all things are looking up.

So, I need some cheap bullets to load up some plinkers and subs for my 9mm CZ and 300 blackout Ruger. I have been looking at the coated ACME, Missouri and Gallant bullets.

I have a jug of 231 and some AA#9.

What I have looked at so far is....

Missouri....
IDP #8 135 grain
245 grain blackout

Acme.......
245 grain blackout
135 RN
145 RN

Gallant.......
217 grain blackout
135 RN

All seem to be the Hi-Tek coating if I am correct.

I found some 147's, but none of them are RN bullets. Most are flat points. I think I would prefer the RN bullets for easier loading in the CZs. Am I correct in my thinking on that?

Any recommendations on the bullets listed above for subsonic work? If so, any load recommendations for the powders I have listed above?

Any discount codes for these bullets or special shipping prices?
Any other recommendations for bullets that I did not list for my intended use?
Anything I am forgetting or need to know?

For 9mm
I have had really good results with RMRs 124gr MPR JHPs, a little more expensive than the coated but not much by the time you add shipping to the coated. $99/k shipped before the 5% THR discount.
Cheap enough for practice and should work in case of a Zombie attack.
5% Discount code for THR members
Code -> TheHighRoad5 and your THR screen name.
They also have some nice 124gr RNs $82/K shipped before the 5% discount.
When I was shooting coated in 9mm I had good results with the MBC 125gn 9 Cone and the ACME 122gr FP NLG.
4.0-4.2 gr of W231 should give you about 1030-1050 fps in the 9mm which is subsonic.
I have an old code for MBC but I don't know if it is still good PM me if your interested. (they prefer it not be posted)
I have heard there is a code for Acme on the Brian Enos forum but don't know it or where it is there.
Rocky Mountain Reloading has Jacketed 147 RN FMJs $53/500 shipped - the 5% THR discount would put you at about $50/500, cheaper if you order more 1000 would be $90 -5% or a hair over $85/K (shipped)

The also have a 9mm FMJ 147 in a cone/FN profile.
All of RMRs new in house FMJs have shot well for me.
RMR shipping is included in the price you see on the web site.

RMR is great to do business with, MBC and Acme also seem to care about their customers and are good to do business with, I have been happy with bullets from all of them.

Your CZ may or may not like 147 FNs I don't own a CZ so I can't say, but they feed fine in my Springfield "Loaded" 9mm 1911, both my XDs, 4" and subcompact, fine in Mig Sig P226 Dark Elite and fine in my Taraus PT99.
I hear CZs tend to need shorter OALs, if that is the case you probably want RNs in 147s, but should be fine with the 124 FNs.

Because of the good quality and pricing I buy bullets from RMR and Xtreme. I have used hard cast bullets from Missouri but only use plated or jacketed anymore. The Missouri hard cast .358 bullets proved to be the most accurate of any bullet I have ever tried in one of my .357 magnums with medium loads. Sometimes you can get a very good deal during a sale from these two or if you wait until Black Friday you can get killer deals.

I've run about 20k lee 125grn lead rnfp 9mm through my eaa witness match without issue (it's basically a cz). I'm using wsf as my powder, and I think I'm using 4 grns. It gives me about 1000fps in my pistol and 1160 in my scorpion carbine.
To stay subsonic in the carbine you will need a pretty light charge, and you may have issues with the handgun cycling. You might need a lighter recoil spring.

I tend to be frugal, but I also want the best bang for the buck.
So I typically use RMR bullets. As said above with the discount and free shipping they’re very reasonable if you buy a 1000 or more

WSF is good stuff in 9mm:thumbup:

First tried it in the shortage a while back.
Only thing I could find at the time and then only a 4lb jug.
Was a little worried when I ordered it as it didn't seem real popular.
It became my go to powder in 9mm.
Works well low-mid range to the top of it's charge range, not quite as much velocity on top as some others but no slouch either.

Another vote for Missouri Bullet or RMR. Both have great products at reasonable cost. I am currently using the coated Small Ball from MB in my various 9MM handguns.

What grain are you shooting? I have been looking at the 135's sized to .357.

RMR, Zero, MBC & ACME are all very good to deal with.

Do a search of this forum & you'll find the discount codes.
