I've got the auto disk pro now, but I simply don't like it. The disk binds, and even at max capacity it doesn't throw enough powder for large calibers.

I'm sure a lot of people have made changes to their powder drop system. What I'm looking for is a different drop and a way to set it up.

Any suggestions?

I've always used the "adjustable powder bar" with mine - even with it, some powders drop better than others-the more powder the better the drop.

If it doesn't drop enough you need the dbl disc kit.
It has extra discs & longer screws so you can dbl stack them.

If your discs are binding you probably don't have it set up correctly.
As samurai said - some powders drop better than others-the more powder the better the drop.

I used an adjustable powder charge bar, but for some reason, one day it just quit dropping (or only did a partial drop).
I wiped it down with a dryer sheet, but that didn't help.
I even put new powder from a sealed bottle in the hopper to no avail.
It's weird, cuz it worked for 3-4 months.

I reload probably 3-4 boxes a week. So it got used a bunch.

Anyway, I just went back to the discs & figured close is good enough.
I use 'em for plinking, not for matches or anything.
If I want to get more anal, I can just ream out existing holes to get a precise amount.

I already have a dual disk kit. Maxed out on both disks just barely hits min load for a .308 with some powders. It doesn't bind on single, just dual.

Either way, I want a better system.

Probably the easiest way to go is to get the Dillon powder measure, powder die, and their "powder funnel" (the powder-through expander insert) for the caliber you are loading. You can get charge bars that are really small (for .32 S&W Long wadcutter loads, say 1.5gn AA2) to the magnum charge bar for those truly massive magnums that take over 100 grains of powder.
I prefer the Hornady L-N-L powder measure and powder through expander system, but it is more complicated than Dillon's and many people can't seem to learn how to adjust them (RCBS seems to have licensed the Hornady system from the pictures of their measure that I have seen).
If you need inexpensive, go with the Lee Perfect Powder Measure (though I am not sure they make a powder-through expander system for that measure). If not, you would lose the RCBS Lock-Out Die option, and I wouldn't want to that...
I sure couldn't go back to trying to remember to drop the charge myself.

Did you put the spacers over the screws? I forgot them once, and it bound up badly until I figured out they were missing. Put them on, works fine now. I haven't tried loading large rifle rounds with it, .223 is the biggest I've done. For .30-06, .303, etc., I just use loading blocks and the scoops. I've found if I do the scooping the same way every time, the powder charge is within a couple of tenths every time.

I know one loader who simply dropped two charges to get where he wanted to go.
Still, recommend the Dillon or Hornady powder measure and auto-charge system.

I have used the double bump rythm for 3 years loading .223 with 24.5grns of Accurate 2230.What cal and charge amount are you going for.I use the adjustble charge bar in a LEE turret loader.
