Need suggestions for a 9mm

Well I would say Sig, but they are pricey. So here's +1 more for CZ75. The CZ is accurate, shoots amazingly well and refined, very reliable, and built like a tank.

Before buying, find yourself an AR-24 AND feel how it fits the hand and that trigger seems to almost curl over your trigger finger like it was molded from it. Th D.A. is smooth as silk, all steel 13+1 in 9mm and accurate as any CZ75, and slide patterned after the 210. Pick em up for upper $400.00s

Don't overlook the Walther P99; it's a truly remarkable firearm that is both wonderfully accurate and -- no surprise given Walther's long-standing reputation for quality -- reliable. If money is an issue, you might want to consider another quality Walther firearm, the P5. It's still the real deal.

Yeah, I know you said no Taurus, but....

I have a Taurus PT92 that is the best gun! I like it a lot better than the Berettas I shoot at work.

Now, we have a Taurus Judge (.45LC/.410) that shoots way high and left without adjustable sights, and a Taurus Millenium Pro in .45ACP that is a total piece of crap.

But the PT92 is superb in all regards.

Like someone else has said, though... just for target shooting, why not a .22?

Buy a used cop gun.

I reccommend a S&W all stainless, no aluminum frame. That way you don't have to worry about the finish being worn off. Used cop guns tend to have the finish worn off from being in a holster for years and years.

It's a model 5906, I think...I think that's the one that is solid stainless.

A used cop trade in P226 SIG went on Gunbroker today for 320 bucks. I was tempted to hop on it myself, but I need a bolt rifle before another 9mm.

Anything but a ruger!
Having bought a brand new in the box p95 six weeks ago and spending more time replacing parts then shooting it I recommend anything but it.:banghead:

Clock make a good pistol and there's a cz75 that looks good.
My S&W m910 I bought about three months ago has been flawless!

That has got to be the exception. My P95 has been flawless. Shoots everything, everytime.

Go for a smooth Beretta.They shine for a target/range/sd/duty and combat service pistol.Beretta PX4 or 92FS(M9).
