$500 for a kit that does not include the barrel seems a lot to me. But then I bought my kit 10 years ago so I may be wrong. FALs are not nearly as easy to build as ARs can be. The upper on the FAL is the firearm so you either buy a stripped upper and the proper tools to assemble it or you buy a complete upper. I think that kit is neat in that it is a pre G1.

You would need a vice for the receiver and a wrench for the barrel. Once you had the barrel correctly installed you have to have a headspace kit to figure out the correct size locking shoulder. These tools can all be purchased but they are not cheap and if it is a one time job it may not be worth it. Then factor in the cost of all the other parts you will need to finish it off and you could buy a decent second hand FAL.

Now don't let me scare you away from doing it, guys do FAL builds all the time but it is not as easy as building an AR and everything is more expensive. If you can find it.

Thanks for the advice. I know such a build can be expensive, but I am really looking to buy all the parts now, at least all the parts less the receiver, as these parts kits are becoming harder and harder to find. I was excited when I seen that Enterprise had the Imbel kits in, but then I looked at some reviews on here and such, and it seems to be a bad company to deal with. Is there any other kits in stock that you folks would recommend? Thank you!
