Hi,

I was looking online and thought that the stock and barrel can come off of these shotguns. I just wanted to know how big of a size this would be when in the shortest and smallest package.

I am looking at the 12g with a 28" that may get cut down.

Pictures would be great too

You'll be limited by the 1934 GCA. My coach gun (20" barrels) is near the limit, any shorter might get you in trouble legally on the OAL. I have a 24" 10 gauge H&R, only H&R I own. It's pretty handy when broken down, but my 20 gauge coach gun is a might handier. I know they also offer a 22" 12. The 10 weighs 9 lbs so recoil ain't THAT bad and it sure patterns awesome with steel T shot.

The forearm has a screw that must be removed, then the forearm comes off and the gun comes apart when opened.

From the H&R site....

Really, you're only limited by the size of your barrel length wise. width limit would be the total width of the stock. These can be carried quite compactly if the barrel is of a reasonable size. (within legal limit of course) I have read that some people will break these down and keep them in their luggage, and assemble them in their hotel rooms for defense on vacation.

I have one in 12GA cut down with home made pistol grip.
Overall lenth is 27 3/4 and barrel is 21 3/4. Just a novelty. When I go to the range I put a regular stock on it.
