your 1st mistake is answering your door. Cuz if they got a warrant, they ain’t knocking.Knock knock...
Can I help you?
Yes, Mr. 211. Umm, we have this tracking doodle here.
Yeah!
We put a tracker in a case, loaded it with M16's and shipped it out.
Yeah!
The tracker led us here...
I have a case but it's empty, just the way it came!
But we loaded it with M16's, sent it to you and tracking shows it's here!!! Give us the case and weapons and your dog won't get shot!
You can have the case, it was empty when I got it. BTW, that's not rain running down your ankle. That's my chihuahua peeing on your leg!
those Shipping Crates look very ModernThere were literally millions of M16's manufactured, but there must be very few units that still have M16's in their arms rooms. Most if not all were turned in long ago and replaced by M4's, with the old ones being disposed of at Anniston Army Depot in the "Captain Crunch" shredder, or rebuilt for foreign military sales, or perhaps put into deep storage (I doubt units or bases would be allowed to destroy them locally, and I'm pretty sure no M16's have been sold to the public as surplus). We shouldn't discount that a few M16s ended up in the hands of non-DoD parts of the government, too.
However, sometimes weapons can hang out in an arms room a long time. I've read about BARs assigned to older ships being found in arms rooms in the 1990s (a few USN ships can be 50 or more years old). And there is an article from 2015 that says Anniston Army Depot had just received a M2 heavy machine gun, serial number 324, from a using unit, for its first overhaul. That M2 was made 94 years previously (and still was in pretty good shape).
Who knows how long these M16's had been in the box! But clearly someone lost control of them, and that is worth figuring out. The people involved appear to have done the right thing and turned them in immediately. This is one of those stories someone should follow up on.
Don’t count on it! If a Military FFL lost those guns… ALL OVER THE NEWS. But if the government messed up… nope, and definitely not JB’s AFTIt will be interesting to see if/when we learn the rest of the story.
I would never do anything like that! Way Against the Law. Rule of Law still exist in America.
Dear Fedboy, I follow all the gun laws, come to a complete stop at stop signals, pay all my taxes.Yes it does - for now. The question is for how much longer and THAT is when those guns would be needed.
Dear Fedboy, I follow all the gun laws, come to a complete stop at stop signals, pay all my taxes.
We in the know, know that we don’t about the Fight Club. Because the Fight Club is not real. Yes, I’m talking cryptic because FedBoys are watching this! and I like my DogWhile "laws" exist, I agree with you. But I was referring to a possible time when that "rule of law" has broken down and no longer exists as we know it now. When there is no "law", you have to be your own "sheriff".
Otherwise, you may end up as roadkill.
