New 10mm owner...

Just won a 10mm online. Bought the EAA Witness 10mm fullsize, 15 round mags, Wonder Finish. Extra mag already ordered as well. What am I missing? Good ammo recomendations anyone. Its my 1st 10mm

Double Tap is very good stuff for internet orders. When that runs dry you can usually find some Winchester Silvertips, which is decent and fairly cheap on the store shelves if you look around. At least around here...

Congrats on the new toy. The 10mm is an awesome round and I wouldn't half mind one of those Witnesses either.

I bought a 10mm Witness not that long back. I had some issues at first with the magazine and the rounds not loading properly. I bought a new 15rd magazine and, after that, I have never had anything but perfect shooting. This is my favorite pistol right now. Since I got the new magazine, it has been as reliable as my Glock 23 and more reliable than my Springfield 1911.

The 10mm cartridge is awesome, but can be pricy buying ammo. A friend of mine just bought reloading supplies, and we have been playing with custom rounds now. THIS is fun.

Just shoot it a bit and see where you are at. Be prepared to polish the feed ramp a little if need be. Most of my Witnesses have needed that, but a few did not. The rear sight is worth keeping an eye on as in the 10mm it may work loose. This is easily fixed in some cases with nothing more than tapping it in better. I suspect they may not always get them in fully at the factory and with the 10mm having more recoil it manifests itself sooner.

I really like the 10 on this platform. The large frame Witnesses are just not that big really for holding 15 rounds of 10mm. They tame the recoil wonderfully and are quite accurate. Despite my Match being a little big, I carry it in an HBE IWB holster regularly as my CCW pistol. At least in cooler weather I have no trouble hiding it under an untucked shirt.

You might also want to consider a heavier recoil spring and heavier magazine springs. Witnesses are notorious for being "under sprung" from the factory.

I had a Witness 10mm and currently own a Witness Match 10mm and both have been flawless.

Yes, they can use a heavier spring. I run a 20 pound wolff in mine.
Hoster are sometimes hard to come by that are specifically for the
Witness. Some CZ holsters fit, others don't.

Double Tap loads the TEN like it should be. I also like Silvertips when I can find them.

Think of the Witness as a poor man's Bren Ten. Only that you can actually buy spare mags for the EEA gun.

Based on the proven CZ75 design (my fave auto) the 10 wit is a very good buy. As I've said before. It could only better if actually made by CZUB.

I finally shot the damn thing. Wow what a nice shooting gun. Bought 3 extra mags and fired about 100+ rounds through it with no problems. I say for the price this was a good buy.

What are you missing? A Dillon Precision RL550B w/ 10mm Auto/.40 S&W conversion kit, dies, case guage, toolhead, powder measures, spare parts kit, primer p/u tubes, locking rings, universal wrench, 2 cases of Starline brass, 4 or 5 4 lb kegs of VV 3N37, 10 cases of Zero 180-gr JHPs, and 10 bricks of Winchester large pistol primers .

Lovin my Witness 10

Just bought a 10mm conversion kit for my Steel Witness 45. I found it to be very reliable, and more accurate for me than my 45. After 40 plus years of handgun shooting, I have a new favorite. I bought 1,000 pieces of brass and and 500 Magtech 180 JHP bullets when I bought the kit. I have had the 10 to the range 3 times this week. This could get really expensive, even rolling my own ammo.

Welcome to the 10MM family. Looks like we are growing in numbers pretty fast around here.

Definitely look at getting into reloading. The initial cost is a bit but the money you save on 10MM rounds will quickly pay that back.

Doubletap is the place to get the full potential out of the 10MM if you dont reload. Happy shooting.
