i wouldn't consider a springfield loaded or R.O. a poor choice. the only springfield armory 1911's that advertise throated & polished barrels are the custom professionals in the 2 grand and up club. springfield will tune your 1911, 1911-A1 Defense Package:
GI models: $350.00
Other Springfield models: . $260.00
1. Deburr pistol internally
2. Tune extractor & ejector
3. Recut barrel throat & polish feed ramp
4. Install custom match bushing
5. Check headspace
6. Install new recoil spring & firing pin spring
7. Tuned 4.5 lb. trigger
8. GI Models: Lower & flare ejection port; install extended ejector
9. Refinish as needed (Additional charge for some finishes)
10. Reliability tuning
11. Inspect & test fire for function
i could be wrong but i don't think anybody offers a 1911 sub 1 grand with tool steel igniton componets. nowlin, c&s, any many others offer a drop in trigger-job kit. i just read two reviews on brownells one in sub $400 armscor, "trigger pull very crisp....well worth the money" another in a kimber series 1 custom classic, "trigger before kit was mediocre & thats being kind...after kit crisp no creep trigger...i'm a very happy camper"
NOLAEMT will get a good 1911 from anybody he mentioned he's looking at, if this is going to be a duty carry, some 1911 need to have the barrel throated & polished to run hollow points reliably. my other recommendation is maybe trigger. happy shooting
